2016 National Disaster Leadership Forum at the Renaissance Phoenix Downtown Hotel


Salvation Army Emergency Disaster Services is excited to include a special ‘National Disaster Leadership Forum’ as a pre-conference event.  Designed for officers, staff, and volunteers with responsibility for leading the EDS program, this forum will feature key speakers and discussion on core disaster services topics and issues.

The event will kick-off with a casual, welcome reception on Monday night, April 18, with the full forum beginning on Tuesday at 7:30 a.m. with breakfast.  Featured speakers include:

  • Commissioner David Jeffrey, The Salvation Army’s National Commander
  • Craig Fugate, the Administrator of the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA)
  • Andrea E. Davis, Director of Crisis Management and Business Continuity for The Walt Disney Company
  • Tom McSherry, President/CEO of Crisis Preparation and Recovery, Inc.

As a part of that day, The Salvation Army is proud to offer a series “Disaster Services Vision Talks.”  Modelled on the immensely popular TED Talks, these 7-10 minute presentations offer EDS leaders the opportunity to share ideas, initiatives, and best practices which will shape the future of disaster services in The Salvation Army.
